What is the best school at a relatively affordable price for a student who would like to become a Civil Engineer?
I would like to become a Civil Engineer, and I would obviously like to study at a good school; however, price is certainly a concern, and a good school with lower pricing would be wonderful. #engineering #professor #civil-engineering

Stay "in state". Most, if not all states, have good engineering programs. Stick with the basic engineering fields EE, ME, ChE and civil to give you the most options after graduation. Engineers are problem solvers... set your education goals, gather data and come up with the best solution. Good luck.

Christain:
The state college or state university in the state where you reside almost always has the least expensive tuition. Civil Engineering is a high-demand field and most major colleges/universities will have such a Civil Program. To further reduce your tuition costs, you can attend a community college the first two years. If you do go to a community college, check first with the Civil Dept. at the college you intend to graduate from to see they have arrangements with any local community colleges. Some community colleges have programs specifically aimed at meeting the requirements for certain colleges/universities. In addition, if you attend the community college be very sure that the courses you take will apply to the Civil Engineering Dept. you expect to attend. Working closely with a community college counselor will help in this respect.
