Charlene’s Answer

I believe that the perfect employment or suitable employment will depend on the lifestyle and type of life you would like to live. A career should not be driven by your view of what job would make money, but rather the field that you are passionate about. Money is important BUT should you choose to make your hobby or passion a career, you will always make money. Choose an option you are passionate about. You will find it is easy to walk the extra mile and get up, excited, every day in the field that brings you joy, the topic that you commit to, without knowing how far you will push that commitment. The most important thing about choosing a career will be.. Do you know who you truly are and what you expect from your life? Are you willing to go the extra mile for this field? Will it make you happy? Do you like to research this field? If you can answer the last 4 questions honestly with a yes, then you found your career and field and most definitely your destiny !!!!

Charlene recommends the following next steps:

Do you like working with people?
Do you like working on your own?
City life or country living?
Do you get energy from social interaction or do you prefer time alone?
What activity do you like to do the most, and why?

Hi MV,

Charlene has some great resources for you. You may also want to consider:

1. What are my strengths? Strengths Finder is a great resource for this.
2. What am I good at that I enjoy doing? Make a list and see if there are any commonalities.
3. What is my personality? Do I enjoy working with people or by myself? Am I a big picture person or dig into the details?

Some more great resources once you've answered these questions for yourself:
The Career Aptitude Test: 123test.com/career-test
The O*NET Interest Profiler: mynextmove.org/explore/ip

Good luck! Don't forget that it's quite normal to try several career paths over your lifetime!

Rebecca’s Answer

Hi, are you a high school or college student? What is your major in the college? You can consider the job that relevant to your major you are studying.
In general, firstly, you can start with the subjects that you are interested in school and determine the relevant careers on those subjects. This approach could help since 1. the careers that you would have interested 2. you may have the knowledge on the careers. That's easier for you to fin the job.
After shortlisting the career, you could further explore how these careers works, speak to someone who really works in these careers or seek your school career counselor advice.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Bradley’s Answer

Hi,

If you are a student as it shows here try to utilize your school's professional development programs. Colleges are all about trying to have their alumni be successful and have departments dedicated to helping students find their career path. They will get to know you and find out what you are passionate about. From there, they can try to help you find any types of internships where you can get some experience.

Gloria’s Answer

Hi MV,

You have gotten some great advice here. I would emphasize that you should focus on careers or skills that interest you. It can be hard to be interested in everything, but there has to be a core like about what you are doing. And also don't be afraid to go into a work situation where you don't know a lot about. In many ways, the hardest part about getting into the workplace is knowing what different workplaces are like.
