Kelsey’s Answer

The biggest advantage you'll get out of college clubs is networking. Clubs are also a great way to meet other students, explore your interests, and have fun. I would recommend checking out any clubs that sound interesting, then staying with the ones you enjoy the most.

Jennifer’s Answer

In addition to networking, clubs can help demonstrate interest in a particular area to future employers. For example, you might be a Communications major and join a Marketing club on campus to gain experience in this area and have examples to speak to during an interview for a summer internship.

Laura’s Answer

I would not be where I am today in my career without the activities, clubs and organizations I joined in college. The networking opportunities were endless and I am still connected to countless contacts from college to this day. It also helped me see what I liked and did not like in group organizations - they aren't all for you! Finding the right groups that challenged me during college pushed me to jump start my career with that same passion.

Lindsey’s Answer

I felt like I was much more involved in high school than in college - but that was when I had the time to do it. College grades and achieving your degree matter a whole lot more when you begin job seeking so in my opinion, school needs to be the #1 priority. I was on the crew team and did lots of other activities my freshman year and my grades really suffered because of it - I even lost my scholarship! I had to work exceptionally hard to get my GPA back up once it went down. After that, I managed my extracurricular activities much more carefully. I would recommend being involved in things related to your future interests but not letting those things affect your study time.
