Based on a quick google search, it looks like Pediatrician salary is determined by how specialized your field is. Here's a useful quote from mommd (a website for women in medicine):
As with any medical career, a major
determinant of salary is the level of
specialization. While the average
salary for pediatricians is around
$175,000, that of pediatric
specialists is typically higher.
Pediatricians with at least 3 years
experience who are specialized in
neurology or oncology/hematology can

The yearly salary ranges are $120,000 to $160,000 depending on the area of specialty, and where you are located. Pediatrician get paid an annual salary if they work in a hospital, or by the patient if they are in private practice.
