This can be a very wide range, but going as high as $250,000 per year. However, to get to that level (captain of a large airliner) you may have to spend a long time as a copilot or as a pilot of a cargo plane. Traditionally, in the USA, the best way to get to a captain's job is to become a pilot in the Air Force. At least one airline has pledged to train its own pilots recently. Be advised though, that 20 years from now, I suspect that most pilots will be computers. At the present time there is a great deal of automation and the most important job of a pilot is to be prepared for when something goes wrong.

https://www.bls.gov/ooh/transportation-and-material-moving/airline-and-commercial-pilots.htm#tab-5 says the average annual wage for commercial pilots was $93,300 in May 2020. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $47,570, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $200,920.

There are many training schools that will help you become a pilot but you'll have to do extensive research to ensure you find one that best meets your needs. Alternatively, some people join the military to become pilots and your training will be paid for in return for serving a period of time. My understanding is that this path is incredibly competitive and only a small % of people become pilots.

I'd contact some local flight schools to take a flying lesson or two so you can be sure you want to go down this path.
