Are you interested in programming? You could teach yourself and volunteer to help create technical solutions for non-profit organizations. Once you have some experience, you could apply for paid work.

There are all sorts of jobs that can be done during college, with STEM jobs just being a portion. It may be just a low-level position for that particular job type, for example: working a line... but those can still provide valuable insight and networking opportunities.
You can also check with the college/university you go to. Many have their own jobs available or have work programs/coops/internships with local companies to provide students with experience "in the field".
Just make sure that whatever job you take does not interfere with your studies. Your main purpose going to the college is to learn and you are likely paying a lot of money to go there.
