How often does a Structural Engineer get to work on a construction site?

I would like to know this question because i hope to pursue a career in structural engineering, but i don't just want to be stuck in an office all day. I would like to get some hands on experience with the projects i am working on. #construction #structural-engineering

As a designer of structural aspects of a project they may never have to be on site. But as an engineer working for a contractor that is a different story. Your involvement an be anywhere from full time management of a project to assist on as as need basis. But you would be utilized for a source to solve ordesign structural solutions

I'm not really sure but I would think that at the beginning of any project they would certainly be there. Every now and again during the project i'm sure they would check in periodically to check on the progress of the site no long as i'm sure they have others site to account for and i'm sure that towards the completion they will be there for that as well.
