Glad to hear that you're looking to serve. There is a lot of information online about the Marine Corps, but below are the general requirements, not including the physical training requirements and other aspects that would be explained by a Marine Corps Recruiter. .

The following are the basic requirements for joining. You must:
•To enlist, you must be a U.S. citizen or a resident alien.
•Meet exacting physical, mental, and moral standards.
•Be between the ages of 17-29. Seventeen-year olds need parental consent.
•Have a high school diploma.
•Take and pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test.
•Pass a Military Entrance Processing Station medical exam.
•Women are eligible to enlist in all occupational fields, with the exception of combat arms specialties: infantry, artillery, and tank and amphibian tractor crew members.

If you are looking to become a Marine Corps Officer you will also need to attain a degree from a 4 year accredited university. The Major is not overly important to the Marine Corps so study something you enjoy and would use when you would have to re-enter the civilian world. While you are in college you would start your application with a Marine Corps Officer Recruiting Officer. The OSO as we call them helps prep your package to go to the board to be selected for Officer Candidate school. If you are wanting to be a pilot or a lawyer they also help prep for those additional boards. From there often after your junior year of college you spend one summer at Officer Candidate school (OCS). This is boot camp for officers where they train and evaluate candidates. After graduating OCS and graduating college you are commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and you go back to Quantico Virginia for the basic school (TBS). All Marine Officers attend TBS and except for pilots and lawyers this is where the Marine Corps will determine what your future job will be. TBS lasts 6 months after which you are awarded a military occupational specialty and sent to school for that. Big things to remember if you are wanting to go this route: Don't get into trouble especially with alcohol this will kill an app at the door step, do well in school, be physically well prepared for OCS and TBS.

First off, you must have a diploma or GED. They will also administer the ASVAB test that can determine what job you can get, it is just basic math, English, and other simple concepts. You must be able to pass a drug test and a medical exam, this just verifies there is nothing wrong with you medically. Don't lie or try to cheat. Next, you must be able to pass the minimum fitness standards for the Corps (They aren't hard, it's a 1.5 mile run, pullups, and situps). You will also get a background check to verify you don't have a criminal background. If you check all of these boxes, you're all good to go.
