How to interview at a medical school? (MMI)

I have an upcoming interview at a medical school that hold their interviews by a Multiple-Mini-Interview style. Can anyone give a way to prepare for a MMI? I have read up on it, but was wondering if anyone has any personal anecdotes on how it went for them and if they would do anything differently? #medicine #interviews -school #mmi

Great question! Don't be nervous, if a school is offering you an interview they are already interested in getting to know more about you than what is on your application. Be yourself! Highlight the parts of yourself that you think are compelling that may not come through on an application. Additionally, go into more detail about the things that you did write down. Medical schools are looking for well rounded, compassionate, smart people and highlighting any interesting experiences that embody those qualities will go a long way. Best of luck!

I have been interviewing medical school applicants. The interview provides a chance for the school to evaluate if you are suitable for the school and if you can be a capable physician.

If you get the interview appointment, usually it means you pass the screening of academic performance.

As a medical school applicant, the key points to present to the reviewer include:

  1. Your interest in medicine; your contribution to humanity;
  2. Your capability to work with a team;
  3. Your effort towards medicine/biomedicine.

Good luck!
