What is the best way to look for scholarships?

I'm a junior in high school, so college is right around the corner for me. I want my parents to be able to save money, by being able to apply for as many scholarships as possible, but whenever I begin my search, I find myself lost, unable to navigate through the many different scholarships offered.

Hi Hope!

Congratulations on trying to find an economical way to get an education! Far too many people are spending way too much money on an education and ending up needlessly with very high debts which are very difficult to repay.

Here are some hints on how to reduce college expenses:

Here is a good site for locating scholarships:

Also, look into coop and internship programs. The same sources would be helpful. These programs could also be good sources of funds for your education. Counselors at your schools could be of good help here.

Best of luck! Please keep me posted. I would like to follow your progress!

Thank you comment icon You are welcome. Word of mouth and personal networking are very important. There are people out there who are willing and eager to help. You just have to ask. Many people have been in your shoes, and because of that and having benefited from the helpfulness of others are just waiting to return the favor to people such as yourself. Ask and you shall receive. I am looking forward to hearing your progress. Ken Simmons

Hi Hope! I suggest that you start by talking to your school counselor.
