Todd’s Answer

There are many available such as Cornell and Penn State, City colleges however the most important is the school that meets your needs and provides you with the match on your best learning environment.
Class size, program features, distance from home , scholarships, big city or smaller rural town. Start the search after thinking about these parameters of wants on on list and work on matches and go to the school and talk to students there.

BRUCE’s Answer

The alumni make the school's reputation and their feed back is to keep school up to date in style and technology. The school's faculty and facilities are next in line to deliver to your studies and make the experience fun and conducive to learning. But what do you contribute to the equation? Are you willing to give the effort to accomplish the tasks and learn the language and basic people skills to go to work?

The diploma lets your recruiter know what you have accomplished in the years of education; attest and certifies that you have completed the curriculum at a level of competency in a timely manner. You could go work at a hotel or restaurant for the same time and have a title/resume, but this same prospective employer would not know what you had accomplished, good or bad in the same years of employment.

I say all this to tell you that you need to find a school that suites your learning style, your financial goals and family obligations. Hopefully, your 12 years of school have taught you how to learn? if not do not waste your money on college until you do so. Scholarships, parents, or you will have to pay for school and I warn you to avoid loans at all costs. Many hospitality corporations have a tuition reimburse program for their employees; just saying - avoid loans.

So the short answer to your question is that every state has a school or two of Hotel & Restaurant or Hospitality Management or what ever it may be called and of coarse you may attend an on line university. I have a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University - Hotel & Restaurant Administration. Cornell, UNLV, CIA, DU, MSU, Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, Stout, Johnson & Wales and many other accredited colleges or universities are out there. Many community colleges have a basic hospitality program, what do you really need?

None of them will make you a General Manager or Executive Chef upon graduation, you have to earn that.
