How long should I go to school for.
I just graduated a year earlier. than I was supposed to. I know for a fact I want a career in the medical field, but don't know hold long I want to go to school for. I am debating on getting my masters and becoming a PA or going the pull 12 years to become a doctor. #medical-school #college #school #biologymajor

Hello. That's great news you were able to graduate a year earlier! Congratulations! If you know that you want to focus in the medical field, I would suggest you do a bit more research on different roles that you feel you may be interested in. I'm sure that post the pandemic, there will be even more opportunities that open up (perhaps medtech / diagnostics related?). You are right in that the path to become a doctor is a long process and will require full commitment. Maybe you should consider if that is something you see yourself doing in the longer run and whether you have the financial resources to do it properly. Otherwise as you've mentioned, there are certainly other paths you can pursue (e.g. getting your Masters, becoming a PA, or looking into clinical therapeutics) which could be equally rewarding. Good luck!

Hello Jaslin! Congratulations on the early graduation! You should be very proud. It's good to see that you know what you want to be and that you are setting goals. That is the first step. My only suggestion now is to do a bit more research on your school selections to get a general understanding of the program timelines. Once enrolled, I believe your experience will determine whether you want to pursue the PA position or become a doctor. Our experiences shape what we do and what we become. Best of luck!
