I would recommend looking at USC, UCLA and LMU, if you are interested in the West Coast. These schools have great networks in the LA area and amazing coursework. It is challenging to get accepted but if you are passionate about a career film you should start finding programs to develop skills or just start creating!

Hello Alejandra,
Like Nicole, I am not in this particular industry but I have friends who are and they range from filming commercials to photography. They attended Emerson College in Boston, MA. You may want to explore an education there. I hope this helps.

Hi Alejandra J. Thanks so much for your question.
While my line of work is not in filming or editing, I can share that NYU (New York University) has a pretty well-recognized film school. I am also familiar with the Tribeca Film Festival which is also well-known. This film festival, one of many, is world-renowned and pulls students and their work, from NYU, in addition to pulling from many other talent pools.
To be clear, there are numerous film festivals that take place all over the US and many schools that have students that participate in various competitions and seminars/workshops.
If you think you may want to start a little smaller, before making a big commitment to a private university, you may want to explore volunteering a local theater or tv station? Just some thoughts on how you can get started in exploring this awesome creative space for film.
Best of luck to you!
