Hello Brandon,
Thank you for the great question. Your personality is fine I am sure. This is a great stable field that you would prosper from. What our government has is the reserve's.
Part-time service in the Navy Reserve presents an exceptional opportunity. For those currently serving in the military. For those who have previously served in the military. Even for those who have no prior military experience. Wherever you stand, there are things you’ll need to know before you’re ready to join the Reserve. And that thought process and the way to go about joining will depend upon your service background.
Potential affiliation or sign-on bonuses now available
You may qualify to earn a bonus from $5,000 to $20,000 when you join the Navy Reserve. Contact a Navy Reserve Recruiter for details. Currently serving in the Navy? Contact your Career Counselor or the Career Transition Office (CTO) for details.

This has the life of what your day would be. I do know that you must go to bootcamp no matter if you are reserves or not. Then you go for about two weeks or so out of the month. The point of the reserves are that they are trained and signed on in case the government needs the Navy, Army or Marine reservist for national assignments. I know that the guard is being used daily for many things. Sometimes the different areas help in clean up of major weather conditons that have devistated regions, they help with the clean up efforts, the guarding of and so people will not loot. They guard. That is the National Guard. The Navy was recently used for the search of a missing plane. Sometimes they can call up reserves if reserves are needed. That is the point of the reserve. Any job that you go to or career path you take are bound by law to allow you to perform your Naval duties first and formost, because if they did not you would be A.W.O.L. and this is not good. Here is what my daughter did she worked out with the Army recruiter for almost 3 months before she decided this is what she chose to do. She looked at Army, Navy, Marines, the Air Force, and the Guard. She chose Army. She loves the Army. She did her homework like you are. You are checking on what it takes to join. You must pass bootcamp. So if you need to work on eating proper meals and working out before that you go now would be the time to start so you can pass the Physical Test. Then there is a second test for your MOS that would be the job you get to choose to do depending on what you scored on the exam. The Naval recruiter will work with you on this. He or she will give you a list of what jobs you can do as to what you scored on your test. So you want to study that before taking the test. The recruiter will help you do EVERYTHING. that you need to do. The great points here are if you need to learn to drive the Navy will help you get EVERYTHING. If you need housing no worries covered, food covered. This is what is so good about the Armed Forces they do take care of eachother. You are a comard. Your piers are comrards. I think this is a great career choice. Just for General Purpose. My uncle is a retired Military Coast Guard Captain he was in the Coast Guard for 40 plus years. He has a good pension now, very stable life substantial income, he and his wife live nicely. He teaches safty classes now. He has been known to make 10000 dollars a day doing this or navigating ships. So you may want to look at the Coast Guard too. They also have sign on bonus for college, I say have fun with it and go for it . You can do it attitude. Be confident in your decisons. YOU do have what it takes to be in the Armed Forces. Good luck.
