If medicine isn't the option then you can go into Academia and do research work in a small environment. I come from a Biochemistry background and truly enjoyed the research aspect of Science. If that doesn't work then working in different sectors like clinical trials could also be an option but you might need to get specific certifications and higher studies.

Nusrat’s Answer

With a background in Biochemistry - or any STEM background it opens up different options based on the skills that you are comfortable performing at.

If you eat/sleep/breathe Biochemistry - academia and research for industry or education may serve your interest well. In a lot of the research labs, your interactions with people may be med-low (not as much client facing). But sometimes people also state when they enter PhD stages it feels a little lonely because you are researching extremely specific topics. It really depends how you set up a structure with your professors

If you are not as passionate about Biochemistry but just enjoyed it - good news there are other avenues to use your background! You can work in supporting production side of manufacturing (regulatory/quality/compliance) for pharmaceutical, biotech, oil and gas, food industries. Also you can work for the government in these roles. With a biochem background, you have analytical and problem solving skills that can propel your job opportunity in many roles. Hope this was helpful!
