Krystyna’s Answer
When I was in high school there was a lot of different areas I was considering. One good resource was the school counselor, who had some suggestions of fields I could pursue given my interests. However, I really found that taking different types of courses during college and speaking with the academic counselor there helped to narrow down my interests to a few fields. There are a ton of resources out there to help inform your choice once you have your interests narrowed down. You can shadow people in those fields, or even just ask them about their career path and why they chose that field. They'll also be able to fill you in on the courses and extracurriculars that may be required to successfully pursue that career. I ended up in healthcare and enjoy the flexibility my career offers, but am glad I understood the amount of work it would take to get the degree I did. Use the resources around you to make an informed decision, and hopefully it will lead you down the right path for you!
