What are the pros and cons of the SAT and the ACT weighed against each other?

I believe that majority of universities and colleges accept both the SAT and the ACT but what are the differences between them? I also don't know which one would probably yield a higher score for me...should I take both and see? #sat #act #test-planning #cons #pros #high-school-tests

Skyler’s Answer

Hello Nada,
The simple answer is that they are both standardized tests, but you may do better on one versus the other. So my best advice, and what I did, is to take both 2X each. Provide your highest score on each on your college applications. Study hard and do your best!

Both ACT and SAT are accepted by colleges and you should take both at least once to see which fits you best since the tests are very different. Most colleges allow for SAT super scoring. ACT super scoring is relatively new, so check with schools you are interested in to see if they accept it. Super scoring is extremely helpful when trying to increase your score

The SAT focus on MATH and English. Some colleges want you to take Subject Achieve Exams in other subjects (check with the schools)

The ACT has 4 sections / grades: Math, Science, English, Reading
