Josue’s Answer

In addition to searching online for internships, I would suggest to create a list of companies that you are interested in (i.e. they are solving a problem you care about, conduct research on an area you like, etc). After, visit their site and see if they have internship positions open for high school students. If not, look for an contact information on the site then message them to see if they have an position open. Let them know what you can bring to the team and why you want to intern with them. Good luck!

Hi Lorna -- I did a quick google search on "internships for high school students in Delaware" and the top results looked quite promising, I'd recommend looking into those ( for example https://www.internships.com/high-school/delaware ) as a starting point. Happy hunting!

Carson’s Answer

First I would find companies that do work similar to what you are interested in. See if any of those have high school specific internships, and if they don't then I would try to get contact info and reach out personally. Also, ripplematch is a decent website to look for internships as well. There arent too many options but they try to tailor it to what you are interested in. Hope that helps.

Maeve’s Answer, CareerVillage.org Team

If you haven't already, create a LinkedIn page and start following any companies that interest you. It is always worth reaching out to someone on their talent teams or recruiting teams to let them know that you are interested in what they do, and would love to hear more about their company. You could even ask to set up an informational interview. It is surprising how many people are willing to take time out of their day to talk about their jobs. You never know where the conversation could lead, or if they have a position opening up for you. And if they don't, it is great networking practice and a chance to learn more about a company you are interested in! I hope this was helpful. Good Luck!!
