Anh’s Answer
In the Manufacturing Engineering world, there is a position called Data Scientist. The job involves data mining computer and components and buying habits of the customers. Currently, the Python programming language is used. You can track what components are selling, and look into the future and predict how much products the company will need to make in the next 3-6 months and beyond.
While this may not sound glamorous at first glance, you'ld gain valuable experience in programming, predictive modeling, and cost analysis skills that translate to other industries. Computer programming and math skills and the ability to see the future can only benefit your career.
To read more about being a Data Scientist, search job sites for the same title. Read the day-to-day job descriptions.
Best of luck to you

Hi Bryan,
I am not sure what Research and Information really encompasses. But I can tell you that digital information processing, also called data mining, is the core of the next century applying to vast range, if not all domains in life. From estimations to almost everything to driving cars and planes, from optimizing crops sowing and reaping to testing validity of an electrical circuit. Digital Information is quite the next move today.
What options I can find, if that is really what it is, are:
- developing new machine learning algorithms
- developing new estimations algorithms
- new other data analytics.
- I can also think of data protection improvements.
There are quite some.
