Holly’s Answer

Health related fields that you can consider in different fields vary. I would start out by taking a skills test to narrow down your choice Majors, in the health field. How much time in college that you want to put into, cost, investment, and what you think that you will like. You must narrow the field down so you can focus on colleges that have that paticular major.

Shannon’s Answer

As holly said the medical field is extremely large and it depends on what you want to do.
Premed if you want to be a doctor/dentist/etc.
Most colleges have Nursing majors if you want to work in the medical field that way and you can become a RN (registered nurse)
If you're interested in research you can major in Biology and be a scientist in any of the fields that the medical field has to offer. for example, molecular biology, pharmacology, neuroscience, etc.
If you like Math you can be a biomedical engineer and work in the Medical Devices fields working with all the equipment that modern hospitals have such as MRI machines, ultrasound machines, x-rays. etc.

Work with your guidance counselor and do research online by yourself to narrow down what specifically you want to do in the medical field.

Thank you comment icon what major do you need to become an ER Doctor? Ramon
Thank you comment icon ER doctor would fall under the Medical doctor group which you'll need to get a M.D. for. Colleges should have a Premed path that you can work with a guidance counselor to start you on the path on. Biology is a popular major for premed since you'll learn many of the things you need to become an ER doctor such as human physiology, molecular biology, trauma, organ systems. etc. After undergraduate college in Biology you'll need to go on to medical school and then residency program in a hospital, internship, rotations, etc. The whole process is a many year commitment as well as large financial investment, but doctor salaries are high and job satisfaction is high as well.
