I know others who have pursued Au Pair work and it often works out very well. However, be sure to work through a highly reputable agency where background checks are conducted for the employer, too - and where you have recourse immediately should any problems arise. Do not be fooled by situations that "sound too good to be true" because they probably are.

Unfortunately most Student Teaching positions in the United States are non-paid positions that do not offer any benefits such as housing or medical benefits. Often student teachers are placed through their University into school districts. If you are attending a University, I would recommend reaching out to them around both opportunities as they would be the one to assist you with Student Teaching placement as well as often Education Departments are contacted by parents seeking out nannies and childcare candidates, so they may have some leads with that as well.
