I am sorry to hear you are not on speaking terms with the individual who was there to help you. My best advice is to find an individual or group that will push you to be the best you can be. If you surround yourself around positive people, who have the same goals as you, then you will find it easier to stay on track. Secondly, go to tutoring for the classes you may be struggling in. If your school offers free tutoring or group work sessions, I would recommend that. If not, find help outside of school. I went to tutoring for math up until my sophomore year in High School. No shame at all! If that is not an option either, I would recommend having office hours with your teachers. This will show them that you are trying, and they will always be willing to help a student who asks questions. Lastly, stay organized. It is easy to fall behind or miss due dates when you do not have a set schedule. Buy a planner, put it in your phone, create a checklist, whatever works best for you! I wish you the best of luck in High School! You can pass all your classes if you set your mind to it!

Learning how to ask for help, without feeling stupid while doing so, is a skill you will use the rest of your life. Learn how to do it now! Let's say you are working at a new job, and are stuck on something. Are you going to waste all day trying to figure it out? no!!!

Now, everything you want or need to know is on the internet. I used it when I didn't understand my assignment, even after reading the book and listening to the professor. I found a video that brought the subject to life, and it made a lot more sense!

But. . . you still need people!!! There is NO substitute for having someone sitting beside you, diagramming something out on a piece of paper, and genuinely believing in you! You cannot get that from a computer.

Take advantage of all the help you can get. If you have certain difficult subjects, don't put them aside - study them first! It's far better to get all C's, than to get 2 B's and 4 F's. Yes, I am saying you might need to spend less time on your good subjects, and it might cost you a letter grade. You need to understand your goal. And your goal right now is to pass high school.

Try to figure out your learning style. If you are a more visual person, seek out those videos on the internet. If you are hands-on, try creating things to back up what you are learning. And, figure out when your brain is most awake. It does no good to study at 7 am if your brain is still asleep!

You can do this!!
