If you have musicians in your life that work somewhere you think is cool then ask them if you can come shadow them for a day or even more. Be a fly on the wall and maybe offer them some lunch. I find that there is much too little of that in our education system but it's the best way to figure out what are the options that are actually available to you without totally committing yourself down one path. Once you know what you generally might want to do then talk to those same people about what are the steps they took to get there.
If you don't know any musicians that do what you want to do then call your nearest music school or go see a local show and talk to people there. I think you will find that artists love to help each other and that you can learn a lot about yourself through it.

Hi!
Another way you can set a career goal is to think about the people in your desired industry that have accomplished great things and that you look up to. What have the accomplished that you admire? Is that something you would like to accomplish in the future? If yes, what steps can you proactively take to achieve that career goal?
