Although now is probably not the best time due to the COVID outbreak, a lot of hospitals will allow you to shadow nurses for a day. If you have a general idea of what you think you'd like (i.e. working with kids only, working with adults only, working with the elderly population) you could reach out to an organization that caters to that population to schedule some shadow days with different specialties. I am a transplant ICU nurse, I also do case management, have been a clinical instructor, and a stroke nurse and honestly they all have been fulfilling in one way or another. Transplants are my passion and I have always been involved in that specialty since graduating nursing school, but spent some other time with other roles just to grow. You're not locked in to a specific type of nursing just because you start there! Good luck!

You will have many job options as a nurse. Some pay well and some pay really well. What’s important is, as a nurse you will always have a job. It won’t always be easy, but you will always have a good paycheck
