Irina’s Answer
Hi Ariana,
One way to do multiple careers - is to have a main career during the majority of your week but on a Friday afternoon or a Saturday to set some time each week to develop skills, knowledge and experience in another field. It could start out as a Hobby but with the right motivation, time allocated and learning, you can transition it into a separate (or your main) career which fulfills your soul's purpose. Be patient and keep on learning, we are not born experts. Just follow your passion even if in the beginning, it does not bring you money. Do it because you like it! Or even better, do it because it makes your heart sing when you do what you do!
Once you become a seasoned professsional in both, you may opt for one to be a priority over the other. Or you can combine them into a new career path - in today's world, it is not impossible but actually prefered if we can combine two passions, two careers into one. Although often times, the career paths may sound too distant, you may want to ask yourself - what is thier common denominator?
For Example - what is the common component between Owning a Bakery and Being a Photographer?
It could be the creativity aspect, artistic and beauty behind all this, or it could be that both careers - a career in ownership of Bakery and a career in Photography - are self-starter and product oriented, one to deliver sweet goods to a customer, another is to deliver memories on paper in terms of prints to families.
As someone who can potentially enjoy both career paths and is really good in both could easily combine them into one:
Possibility 1 : A baker who owns a small bussiness but learns photography could apply both and become a baking blogger and social media marketer.
Possibility 2: A food photographer who reallly knows the baking bussiness and works specifically with local bakers to help them promote and grow their bussiness through photographing the products and creating promotional materials such as menus, social media presence, etc.
We are people of many talents. The days of having one main career for 30 years are no longer here. Employees seek individuals who are agile to act in different situations, who are fluent in multiple languages, who have an outside the box creative thinking and who have a number of diverse skills. Employers do not hire people who can work on Excel only anymore, employers hire people who can understand the data coming from the Excel Reports, who can draft a slide deck and present to leardership.
We are a combination of knoweldge, skills, expertise, artistic talents and diverse experience and this is phonemonal as we are all so unique!
Just follow your talents. They will lead you in the right direction of what needs to be a priority over another. If you love something, just find a bit of your time within the week or a month to do it! It would lead you to great results!

Hello,
With current events, and teleworking, finding a job that can be done virtually has become relatively easy. Pretty much everything in cyber career field to some degree can be done from home while knocking out other tasks.
BUT, like most have said, it should be something you love doing. That way you're not dragging and kicking feet trying to figure out how you are going to call in sick tomorrow. 🤔

Hi, Ariana! This is a great question. I really liked Irina's answer. It is true that we all are people with many interests, and sometimes it isn't easy to decide which career path is the best for you. We are living in a time when careers are not static, they are being invented and combined all the time.
Do what you love. Use your talents to make your job special and tailored to what you do best. Figure out what it is that brings you joy and incorporate it into your work.
Freelancing is one way that you can do a job you might love--such as writing or art--as well as another job that takes place in person at a business. Try many things; in time you will find the career path you love--or create it!
Annie recommends the following next steps:
