Deborah’s Answer
Starting with community college may help in getting admitted to nursing school. Any volunteering you can do in the health care arena increases your chances. Also try to take classes relevant to nursing prior to admission. Anything you can do to demonstrate a passion for nursing will help your chances of being accepted into a program. And if you're not accepted the first time, don't give up! There are many applicants, often far more than there are available spaces, and it might take more than one try.

Mike’s Answer
Hi Amanda - I agree with Michael's comment above Nursing being a very in demand field and providing flexibility of locations, both are which are really great. Getting into Nursing School should not be that difficult, as they are offered by local community colleges, as well as broadly at larger universities.
Accelerated programs and BSN's are more challenging and require pre-requisites, but for an RN program and your level of dedication/commitment/passion you should be able to definitely find your way in! I am sure you will make a great nurse, good luck!
