Hi Mykelle! I also grew up with a love for animals and was around dogs/cats as well as farm animals growing up. I excelled in math and science and found a love for helping people and their pets so becoming a veterinarian was the right path for me

Shannon recommends the following next steps:

Get experience in a vet clinic
Work with many types of animals
Talk to Vets who work with all different animals
Do well in school
Work on leadership and communication skills
