Megan’s Answer

Nursing school. Luckily there are many different paths you can take. Personally I went for a year straight out of high school and got my LVN/LPN with no pre reqs. Went back two years later and got my RN associates degree with pre reqs that’s about 3 more years part time. I then went back and did another 12 months online and got my BSN and in January will start another 18 months for my Nurse Practitioner. You have to love it. Study non stop give up your social life while in school. But In the end I would not trade it for the world

Michael's answer was a great one. Adding to the list of what it takes to be a nurse, you will need flexibility, resilience, a good sense of humor (used appropriately, of course!), curiosity, critical thinking, and a strong ability to interact and work with people.
