I would reach out to Workforce Administrators who work with individuals in the skilled trades. For example, you might want to reach out to Gavaskar Reid on LinkedIn.
He works as an Industry Liaison at the NYCDOE and would be able to point you in the right direction regarding carpentry. Also contact Apex Technical School or Lincoln Tech. I believe they offer carpentry programs. Good luck!!!!

Carpentry can be seasonal but right now, it is easy to get on a crew. If you don't have experience, you can still find companies that will do on the job training. If you go this route, learn as much as you can from laying cement to roofing and all the finish work. You may also consider electrician, plumber or other specialized job. Go see one of the local technical colleges/trade schools. They will give you a tour and talk to you about other options. Good luck!
