Alexandria,
Have you considered becoming a blacksmith? I know nothing about it - just know that I wanted a nice fireplace screen, and found this lady to make it for me. Her story is interesting, switching from Administrative work to blacksmithing. I honestly don't know how one makes a living at it starting out. Anyway, check out her work, and her story, and feel free to email her if you want some career pointers. https://www.lauraarmstrong.studio/sculpture.html

Any trade will be a good fall back if you cannot make money doing art full time. I know of several welders who do part time art. Pipefitters, boilermakers, ironworkers are all trades that you will learn welding in.
