Jill’s Answer

Go to Occupational Outlook Handbook website and look up Finance as a career. This will give you all kinds of information about the career plus links to similar careers and what duties and salary they incur. Good luck in your career choices.

Thank you comment icon It will depend on where you go to college, what you will be doing, and where you will be employees, but 40k-60k is a good entry level range. Amanda Ware

Jayasheela’s Answer

It can vary greatly based on your location and what school/college you went to. And also which area of finance you go into. Graduates from top schools can get 100K+ salaries in NYC as Consultants but even many college grads (from non-ivy league and state schools) can expect to make 40-60K as Financial analysts.

Delwin’s Answer

Lots of variables involved in that question.

There are many salary surveys available for free that you can find with a web search that can help you with more specific information for locations that interest you.

Generally, the larger the city, the higher the pay. But, the higher the cost of living, so that has to be considered as well. You can also find cost of living indexes on the web that will help you make those comparisons.

Good luck!

Nadia’s Answer

The location typically determines the salary level with metropolitan areas offering higher salaries due to generally higher cost of living. The best source for this information is the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook, URL: https://www.bls.gov/ooh/
