I'm not sure what you mean by "how heavy" is the job.
Automotive technician jobs are great jobs and there is a need for people that work on and work with automobiles. If you want to be an automotive mechanic, you'd want to work for ASE certification. This would help you get a better salary and work for good shops.
One thing that could help you is, of course, complete high school and do well. Then go to a 2 year college that offers an automotive technology degree. This would be a very good place to start. You could also work part time in an auto shop while you go to college. You might have to start off washing cars or something like that but that's a great place to start because one day you could tell everyone that you did every job possible in the shop.
That kind of experience is very valuable. Give yourself time. No one becomes a good automotive technician in a year or two. It takes time. Some mechanics say they never stop learning because vehicles area always changing. So give yourself time. Be patient. But learn as much as you can from school, and from more experienced mechanics.
We all need good mechanics that do a good job and are honest. Customers are always looking for a great mechanic that they believe is being honest and is trustworthy. Good luck.
