As a genetic counselor what are some things you wish someone told you before pursuing this career?
I'm a high school graduate, graduated this year. I am enrolled in job corps and am doing research on careers that I may want to pursue #psychology #career #career-path . I am interested in becoming a genetic counselor and want to learn as much as possible from someone already in that field.

I have a friend who is a Genetic Counselor. You may be in a position to tell someone they have the genes that will lead to a debilitating illness or disease and that can cause extreme stress for that person. You would be trainer on how to properly deal with all of this.

I'll suggest choosing the computer science as possible as you can.
It'll be a hard trip, but it's a most promising career, and it will keep growing.
If you begin your major that not quite tech-hard-core, your pay check will get you when you graduate.
At that time, some people might think of changing careers to computer science engineering, but they've already wasted their time.
