What's there to know about radiology?
I want to become both a radiologist and a 2d animator. I have not done much research into radiology so I would like to know a lot about it. #research #medical

What is interesting about the field of radiology is that you aren't necessarily just studying medicine, but you are also studying physics.
The machines that are used in radiology deal with some complex radiation (Gamma, Alpha, Beta Waves, Joule calculations etc).
The field is an interesting intersection between Physics and Medicine, where we are able to treat patients through advances in the combination of the two.
There are also radiology assistants, and doctors, it would be important to distinguish which of the two you plan to become. Understanding that a doctor might be a much longer path of education to fruition, where as some technical colleges allow for the capacity to become an assistant.
You should also take into consideration the environment you will be working in, however it is a highly valued field with a promising future that I believe will continue to grow as our technology and methods improve.
As mentioned above start by understanding if you would like to be a radiology assistant or doctor, and dive into what the actual requirements are and maybe shadow each one to see if it is a job you truly would enjoy.

My suggestion to you is to reach out to your local university and hospitals to see if they have a shadow program or check with your family and friends to see if anyone is a radiologist or knows one. Find an opportunity to interview someone already in the field. Think about what type of radiologist might interest you and then try to meet or speak with someone from each area. Best of luck to you in your decision making.
