Hi Nylah. To become this type of doctor you do need to go to medical school and then do a residency in OB GYN. In residency you work under supervision as an OB GYN doctor. Residency is 5 years for this specialty. After that you can practice on your own.
Nurse practitioners can also do work in that field.

an OB GYN is a kind of doctor. So, first, you'd have to go to college, then medical school. Once that is done, you'd need to to additional training in your field. You are (I believe) a resident, working under the supervision of another doctor for a few more years.
