Hi Sajayda! When thinking about goal setting, either personally or professionally, I really love the format of OKRs. "OKR" stands for "objectives and key results." It is a goal setting framework used to define measurable goals and track their outcomes. Check it out here! https://www.ted.com/talks/john_doerr_why_the_secret_to_success_is_setting_the_right_goals/transcript?language=en
thank you so much for the OKR , im definitely applying to my career goals ( :

Hi Sajayda!
I'm 25 living in NYC working in marketing so maybe my perspective a couple of years ahead will be helpful! I know when I graduated college at 21 I literally had not thought of goals past graduating, so I really had to sit down with a mentor and think about what I wanted my career and life to be like. here is my answer:
Long Term Career Goal- Once I feel strong with my skills, I would love to put my marketing skills to the test and start something from the ground up. Whether this is experimental or long-term, I want to either start a business or brand that makes money on its own or that I am able to sell for a profit. I want to really test my marketing skills and see what my knowledge looks like in the real world. I want to do this once I feel strong and confident in my career because right now I'm still learning every day.
Short Term Career Goals- Negotiate a pay raise and maybe a promotion. I'm starting to feel confident in my skills and I want to ensure I learn young how to negotiate in a room. I heard that a huge percentage of women never negotiate, and I want to re-write that storyline. Doing things like negotiating now will ensure when in the future I (hopefully) am negotiating large salaries or contracts, I've actually had years of experience and applied it to my own career.
I really like that you asked this question and think it's great that you're exploring these thoughts- it's important to set goals to stay motivated and to know where you are working towards. best of luck!
