I agree with Carolina's comment. Getting neighborhood babysitting experience would be a good start. Babysitters in our neighborhood would also get CPR certified so parents know they can handle emergencies. Volunteering is another great option. Start in your school district. Do they have book buddy or tutoring opportunities?

Like Hassan and Carolina said, babysitting is a great way to get into childcare and gain experience. I know my town has a Facebook group for the community and I've seen parents looking for babysitters on there. See if your community has a Facebook page or some type of community network. Something I did before I started working in childcare was volunteer. I volunteered at a baseball league for special needs children for five years. It was a lot of fun to see the kids enjoy the game, and I gained a lot of experience from it. Try to see if there are any volunteer programs for helping children in your area.
