I would also recommend looking into DO schools, which lean more towards primary care: CUHS-COM, TUCOM-CA, and WesternU/COMP

Yes! I agree with Michael. If you live in CA, definitely stay in the UC system. It is great, expansive, and will be affordable for you with in-state tuition. There are many medical schools that now offer "primary care track" or "rural health track" that support primary care (or "general practitioner") goals which include pediatrics, internal medicine, family medicine, OB/GYN, general surgery.
