Kellie’s Answer
Hi Joyce,
I've been in my current role for the past 3 years but I've been at the company for almost 19 years now! It's hard to believe it's been that long - I never would have expected that when I started. Why have I stayed? Company culture is so important as are the people that you work with. I have been fortunate to work for a company that has allowed me the opportunity to move around and experience many different roles. This has allowed me to develop as a professional as well as contribute in a much stronger way as I've gotten to know the business.
I encourage you to ask questions when interviewing about culture and opportunities - it's great to hear from those directly in the business what their experience has been and will help you decide if the company is a good fit for YOU! Best of luck!

Marc’s Answer
Hi Joyce,
I just began my current role a few weeks ago. Even though I have only been working in this role for a few weeks, I have actually been at the company for 2+ years. I think the number one thing to look for when evaluating career opportunities is the culture at the company. The culture of my current firm really stood out to me during the interview process and is the reason I accepted my first job. Due to the collaborative and encouraging atmosphere, I was able to find a new job at the same company that aligned better with my interests. Being somewhere that supports internal mobility is great because it allows for constant career growth as you develop better knowledge of the industry.
Best,
Marc

Hi Joyce! I've been working within my role for 1 year and have been with my company for 3+ years. Similar to Marc, it was important for me to evaluate the company values and culture. The company truly operates as a family and we've stayed even more connected throughout the pandemic despite most employees working remotely. The flexibility and trust they give us is a huge motivator for me. When looking for a job, seek out the company's corporate social responsibility plans and strategic goals, and ask your interviewer what their experience has been like working for the company. This can help gauge your interest and determine if their goals align with yours. Best of luck in your career search!
Warmly,
Bella
