It is great that you are interested in hydrogeology! This is an exciting branch of science that combines elements of hydrology, geology, Earth systems science, environmental science, and engineering. Majoring in any one of these areas would be a good first step towards a career in hydrogeology. Depending on what majors are offered at your college, I'd suggest choosing from any one of those that is most interesting to you. You could also take some elective courses that complement your major with other aspects of hydrogeology. For example, if you major in geology, you could take some electives in hydrology or engineering. You can also look for opportunities to do lab or field work related to these areas. Many colleges have labs dedicated to these areas of science where professors conduct their research, and some hire undergraduate students to work in their lab. You can also get real-world experience by looking for summer internships or jobs related to hydrogeology - or any of the related branches of science. A major in one of these areas plus some relevant work experience should set you in the right direction. Good luck!
