I am an instructional designer and I work Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm. Because I'm salary, I have some flexibility depending on my meetings. This means I can start working a little later if I stay a later as well. That level of flexibility is important as you get older.

I work Monday through Friday, and I am typically up for 6:45am EST. It is a 7 minute train ride from my stop to the office (plus a 3 minute walk).
If I work a few hours on the weekends (sometimes you have to!), I'll sleep in a little bit and try to get some work done early in the morning (before 11am) so I can enjoy the rest of the weekend.
I know getting up early can be tough, but you get used to it in all honesty!

I'm luck my job is very flexible but it can also very demanding. I typically only work Mondays-Fridays, but the hours each day can vary significantly. Most of my work days start around 8 or 9am CST but I am free to take breaks throughout the day depending on my meeting schedule and project deadlines. I like to end the first part of my work day around 4 or 5pm so I can go to the park for a hike or just relax. However, since I work for a large international company, I often have meetings in the evening with colleagues in Asia. These are often 2-4 nights a week from roughly 8-10pm CST. In total, I typically work 40-50 hours a week.
