While you do need a lot of STEM courses to get into medical school, keep in mind that medical schools also care a lot about your GPA. Many successful medical school applicants major in liberal arts degrees to raise their GPA (average grades for these courses are often higher) while taking all of the STEM prerequisites. Many of these doctors are also excellent at working with patients as a result. So you should major in something that you are interested in, that will allow you to have a high GPA, that will give you enough time to take all of the prerequisites, and that will contribute to your abilities as a doctor.

Congratulations on your goal and determnation, and more importantly early start on the process! Very commendable.
Although most medical schools do not demand a specific major to get admitted, they all require certain amount of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Math courses to qualify.
Considering this, although any major is good enough, you want to probably stay in the Stem fields. Most do take Bio or Chem major typically.
You do need to also take MCAT exam during your final years of college to be eligible to apply for Medical school. It is like SAT for Undergrad. MCAT does carry questions on Bio, Chem, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Math, etc. It will be helpful for you to have a major in Bio, or Chem to help succeed in this competitive field.
My daughter majored in Bio and is now in Med School. Most of her current med school classmates are also from Bio or Chem major!
Once you get into College you can work with the guidance councilors on the Pre-Med track and make sure you take and complete all required courses to make it easier for Med School application!
