Colin’s Answer
Start by joining local real estate groups, Facebook groups, or anywhere else you can network with actual realtors. That way you can learn about the job from experienced professionals and what goes into the day-to-day of their business. If possible, try to find a mentor or an internship program where you can learn about the business firsthand. Also, read books, listen to podcasts and watch YouTube videos on real estate to gain an understanding of how the business works from all different angles. It may also help to study local housing prices and other factors that impact the market. Then, once you’re ready, start studying for the exam.

I suggest contacting local realtors in your area and asking if you can meet with them directly and get information and possibly watch them show houses and offer to volunteer for them to learn about the real estate industry.
