Hi Robert, Great question! You are looking at an excellent career if you are interested in helping people that need it. You ask about personal skills. Most clinical skills you will learn in nursing school or on the job so not to worry about that. Sounds like you already have a caring heart if you seek to help people. Other personal skills include critical thinking, common sense, and multitasking. Persevere with schooling and job training. It gets difficult at times, but in the end you get to do what you choose. Minimum required out of nursing school is an associates degree in nursing (ADN). You can move on the Bachelor's, Master's, or further degrees. You can work in a hospital, home health in people's homes, public health helping the public populations, clinic, urgent care, doctor's office, humanitarian missions, volunteering, forensics with law enforcement, legal representation, ambulance transport team, and so much more.
Hope this helps!
