Thomas’s Answer

The most challenging part is to first understand if becoming a doctor is really what you want to do being a doctor is not like what you see on tv. Seek out doctors and ask them what it is like to be a doctor and do they enjoy the profession. Another good thing to do is to volunteer at a hospital

Geetha’s Answer

Hi Shelby! This is a great question. I am currently a 4th-year medical student. I believe the most challenging part is the ability to balance both school and life. When you get into the thick of your medical school career, you will get lost in all the deadlines, studying, and the stress of school itself. It is very important to not lose yourself completely while in school. The best way to combat this issue is to study smart and not hard. You should develop the skills to manage time properly and study during a dedicated time. Also, take time to work out, spend time with friends and family and enjoy downtime as much as possible. Having time to yourself to decompress will allow you to succeed and enjoy the process more. I hope this helps!

Take care!
Geetha
