Hi Tylasia! Good question. The travel agency will provide you with a housing & food stipend. This stipend is the amount of money per day they expect a traveler to spend on housing and food in a given location. This appears on your weekly paycheck. This stipend is all tax free and does not appear on the W2. The agency can help to locate housing for you, but I find it to be more cost efficient in locating my own accommodations. You do not have to report how much you spent on housing and food. The agency can also reimburse your travel expenses. Most choose to reimburse by mileage. For example $1 for every mile you travel from home to get to your assignment. It is up to you to find your way to your assigned location. It is important to read your contract closely and pay attention to your paystubs. Hope this helps!
