A lot of different things! Rather than type it up myself, I'm going to do something that I do VERY frequently as a pharmacist - identify the information you need and give it to you in the most ready to use format. The American Pharmacy Association has a career pathways program that provides a lot of information on the different career pathways. Take a look at any of the careers that sound of interest to you. You can also take the survey to see what is a good fit for you.

Michael gave a great answer. He described what pharmacists do at drug stores or hospitals. There are also many jobs in the pharmaceutical industry. Pharmacists hold many roles at pharmaceutical companies developing new drugs, working with the FDA to get new drugs approved, working on collecting safety on new drugs. Pharmacists can also work on the "business side" by working with insurance companies so they understand the value of drugs for reimbursement.

Hi,
Although this may seem like an answer that deserves a clear-cut response, it isn’t that simple. The scope of pharmacy is so broad that many pharmacists can do different things based on their training and place of practice.
The general role of a pharmacist is to be a medication expert. Usually, this means verifying medication prescriptions in a retail setting or orders in a hospital. Additionally, in all states, pharmacists can immunize. However, depending on what immunizations they can give depends on the form.
Additionally, in many states, pharmacists can prescribe some medications. For example, in Maryland, pharmacists can prescribe medications through collaboration with a physician. Other medications that pharmacists can prescribe are birth control and antiviral medications.
Here is a link with good, easy-to-read info about unique things pharmacists can do in each state. https://www.goodrx.com/hcp/pharmacists/prescriber-authority-for-pharmacists.
Pharmacists can also perform medication therapy management (MTM) sessions with patients, which allow insurance companies to reimburse for medication counseling services provided by pharmacists; this is usually prominent in hospital settings. Currently, there is a significant push for provider status to be given to pharmacists to allow their role in healthcare to open up more responsibilities like MTM.
