i have family members who have gone through college attending nursing schools in various way. You can go to a local community college for a 2 year program in nursing program, then transfer to a 4 yr college nursing school of your choosing. They are quite competitive from what i see but the reward when you finish your degree would be worth the effort. Typically you want a BS in Nursing. Then once working in the field (which you should not have any problem getting hired right out of college) you can pursue your MS program in Nursing w company tuition assistance paid for. Also I would check out the schools credential to make sure they are accredited by the states in nursing program, esp when you get your first Bachelor degree in Nursing.

I loved it. You have to be focused on school that is for sure. You will live and breathe nursing the entire time you are in. Make sure you give time back for yourself whether it be a walk, meditation, reading, running etc. Self care is important esp because we teach this to our patients. It is hard as this is a professional job. But, it is worth every second.
