Hi Caroline! To learn more about any field, I would highly recommend finding opportunities to work in that field. For healthcare, many students volunteer at hospitals and clinics; this is a great way to understand what it feels like to be in a hospital or clinic setting. You can also find medical assistant or medical scribe jobs at hospitals and clinics; these are great positions for working closely both with physicians and patients. Research is also a great way to learn more about the healthcare field; clinical research assistants interact with patients while also studying behavior and/or analyzing data.

It is exciting to hear of your interest in the healthcare field! If you are still in school, I recommend a focus in science classes. You can also volunteer for local organizations that will provide you the opportunity to work with patient/families/other healthcare providers to learn more firsthand. This will also give you an insight to the wide variety of healthcare field options you have,
Good luck!!
