What Made Your Teaching Career Worth It?

What was the moment in time when you realized that being a teacher is completely worth it? I am in 12th grade and looking to be a kindergarten teacher and would like to know the moments that really make this career stand out in a positive way. #teacher

Michael’s Answer

I am really interested in how people think and act. As a teacher, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to interact with kids and adults on a daily basis. I get to use my strengths to do and say things that will improve the lives of the people around me.

Thank you comment icon A great start and absolutely respond to Micheal but you may want to "prompt" him or others a bit deeper too since he didn't elaborate about what strengths he found most critical to the reward JoAnn MacPherson

Karen’s Answer

The moment I realized being an Assistant Kindergarten Teacher was really worth it was when I walked into the room on a Monday morning and had at least a dozen kids come up to me with a big hug.  Seeing the smiles on these amazing faces after you have taught them  something small -- like how to write their name or hold a pair of scissors, reminds me that as a teacher you are creating the future!

With every good wish.
